Let’s face it. Most artists starting out don’t have a lot of money to spend on advertising, promotions, touring, equipment, insurance, studio time, voice and music lessons, in addition to rehearsing, finding gigs and writing music. Fortunately, many government organizations promote music, video and art that are relevant to the community. Check out some of these sources:

6) Canadian Music Memories Program The Audio Visual Preservation Trust of Canada (AV Trust) administers the Canadian Music Memories Program. This program provides funding to Canadian non-profit organizations to promote and preserve Canada’s musical recording heritage by transferring recordings to more accessible technologies, providing direct access to these recordings, producing new CD releases, and creating accompanying educational materials.
