Graham, a lot of my doctorate research was spent on understanding and applying constructivism in the classroom. I have spent the last five years applying those principles to my lessons. It is no easy task when parents here in South Korea have not quite jumped on the coding bandwagon.
Also, choosing the right Edtech for students has become extremely difficult. It seems like there is a new Edtech company popping up every week. Also, finding the money to buy Edtech is an even bigger problem. So, I usually spend most of my time researching companies and products before investing.
However, I do believe I have found a small Edtech Startup that I can trust that offers a mix of literacy, coding, and hands on challenges.
Back in November, a friend from my PLN suggested I check out Podpi.com. After reaching out directly to the creators, I was blown away by the concept of students learning through comic books, JavaScript, and Arduino. Read more about it here.
I am presenting at BETT Asia this year, and I hope I can change your view that Edtech Startups have become bland. I believe there this potential in my approach to helping students discover their creativity through technology and literacy.
I look forward to joining your Rebel Alliance!

All the best,

Richard Campbell
