POSE Scholarship for M.Sc and B.Sc Haryana / Chandigarh

POSE Scholarship : Promotion of Science Education (POSE) Scholarship Scheme was introduced by the Department of Science and Technology, Haryana for the meritorious students in pure/basic science courses at Under Graduate and Post Graduate level and to continue their study up to research level. The scholarships are awarded for students who have enrolled in M.Sc. (Two years course) and B.Sc. Honours (Three years course) in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology and Geology in Universities / Colleges of Haryana.

POSE Scholarship 2016

In order to attract meritorious students in science stream, the Deptt. of Science & Technology, Govt. of Haryana had introduced the POSE scholarship scheme.

1. M.Sc. (Previous) in any one of the basic science subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology and Geology.
2. B.Sc. General (Medical / Non-Medical) — 1st year
3. Students taking B.Sc. (Non-Medical) course must have chosen any two basic science subjects out of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Geology.
4. Students taking B.Sc. (Medical) course must have chosen any two subjects out of Botany, Zoology, Chemistry / Geology.

POSE Scholarship Merit List

Scholarships will be provided to the students during three years of B.Sc.(Honours) Courses and two years of MSc. Courses in basic sciences in basic sciences like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology and Geology from the colleges / universities located within Haryana. The candidates who have obtained minimum 60% marks at the previous (qualifying) class (i.e 10+2) are eligible.

• Only those students would be eligible who have obtained minimum 60% marks at the previous (qualifying) class. (i.e B.Sc. (Honours) students must have obtained 60% marks in their 10+2 examination and M.Sc. students must have obtained minimum 60% marks in their B.Sc. course
• Further, the students have to maintain at least 75% attendance throughout (in every semester) for continuation of this scholarship. The principal of the concerned institute should have to furnish a certificate regarding the attendance of the student concerned, for the year / semester for which the scholarship is to be released.
• Only regular students will be eligible for this scholarship. The students studying privately or through correspondence / distance mode or in unrecognized institutions will not be eligible for this scholarship.

The students who have been ranked in the top positions as per the criteria of this scheme will be given the scholarship.

Qualification

The students who have obtained minimum 75% marks in the previous class i.e. B.Sc /B.A (3 years course) for M.Sc students and 85% marks in 10+2 for B.Sc (General) students are eligible to apply

Further, the subject wise/group wise (Medical/Non-Medical) merit list of the candidates for award of scholarship will be prepared as per the criterion laid down in this regard

Scholarship Details

The amount of scholarship will be for M.Sc Students — Rs.6000/- per month plus contingency stipend of Rs.5000/- once in a year

The amount of scholarship will be for B.Sc Students — Rs.4000/- per month plus contingency stipend of Rs.4000/- once in a year
