“Which stone color do people buy the most?” I’ve been gone for a little but we are back to discuss Quartzite and boy do I love me some Quartzite. Often confused with quartz, but it’s a separate, naturally occurring stone that is quarried in a similar way to granite. Marble designs with strong durability this beautiful natural stone tends towards the hard side, easy to clean and is highly resistant to UV rays, below you will see it’s most popular stones.

Taj Mahal

“What can I say about this beautiful stone that hasn’t been said. Top to bottom features a soft white background and subtle gold veins”

Spartacos

“A stone created for kings, named after the prince turned gladiator. It captures the essence, beauty and vigor with an imposing presence as soon as you walk in the room”

Cygnus Vein

Cygnus is considered an exotic stone vs your basic and essential stones. With grey and brown backgrounds, the stone gives a modern appeal to any decor. Linear lighter veins enhance the appearance. It is stunning and flexible. The look of marble combined with the durability of granite is what this quartzite.

Illuminato

This stone is becoming increasingly popular because of the ability to have it back lit. The effect can transport the mood of a room from just nice to spectacular.

Hands down I love Quartzite. I will say granite has been for the longest the king of the countertops, but Quartzite has a slight edge on granite when it comes to hardness and also a much denser material than granite.

If you’re someone that enjoys the look of marble, Quartzite is your stone. With the same interesting patterns as marble you can definitely achieve the style you are looking for. Beware of companies that claim to sell “soft quartzite” as there is no such thing — that product is likely just marble. One way to tell the difference between quartzite and marble is with a hardness test. Use a glass tile to rub against the edge of the slab. Quartzite will scratch the glass while marble will not.

Quartzite is on the rise and offers both the glamorous look of marble and the practical advantages of granite, quartzite has been gaining greater and greater appreciation among homeowners and interior designers in recent years. Its stylish appearance combined with unsurpassed durability and resistance to wear-and-tear make it suitable for all kinds of construction and decoration projects — from outdoor paving and feature walls to kitchen countertops and bathroom vanities. Quartzite has the inherent charm and timeless appeal of all natural stones, but it is much stronger and longer-lasting than any of them.
