Every adventure starts with a yes

It’s important that we share the positive elements in our life. We are all human after all and isn’t good business about a human connection; looking beyond the finely polished corporate veneer?

I had an amazing experience recently when I proposed to my girlfriend, although I had never been so nervous. Not nervous whether she would say yes. Nervous because, stupidly, I decided to sing “500 Miles” over the speaker on a flight to Mexico for our family holiday.

To be perfectly honest, the nerves were down to the inability to be able to sing in tune rather than the audience. Plus, keeping this a secret from her for so long — and the kids not letting the cat out of the bag — filled me with a nervousness that can’t be verbally described.

But after significant planning and trying to sound vaguely in tune, I’m so happy and proud to be sharing my life with the most amazing and beautiful person inside and out.

One thing I’ve learned through this wonderful yet terrifying experience is that every adventure starts with a yes!
