I’ll tell you a thing about your life that you often forget: All journeys begin with one step. Those that are completed are made through one step at a time. Slow, mostly.

One’s life will always be a series of steps. Steps of differing gradients, heading towards a summative height. And if you can understand that some steps will take more out of you than they put in, that some seasons will threaten your faith, that certain steps will remind you that you are human, make you feel you are vulnerable, or alone, or lost, or wish you were dead…if you can understand that these are not indications of defeat, but reminders of ascent, you will go far indeed. For a climber’s legs do not burn when they are standing still.

They burn as they ascend the mountain.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
