At the heart of every Andelan is a drive to be EPIC! and this is not just a word but a lifestyle of delivering excellence, being passionate, having integrity and executing in collaborations in what is required of them.

“Excellence is the gradual result of always striving to do better. “ — Pat Riley

I strongly believe that excellence isn’t a one-way trip, but a continuous journey in being incremental while delivering highly impressive levels of service.

Excellence shouldn’t just be about delivering results based on the value of the service, but going an extensible length in ensuring that an inestimable quality is derived from the potential a task or service expected.

“Be the flame, not the moth.” ― Giacomo Casanova

Passion is the fire we all most consistently try to douse. But passion is fuel, passion is the drive in excellence. Passion is what gives you the push to achieve what you want as against what is expected of you.

Andela clearly exudes passion in training and equipping individuals of various backgrounds with the opportunity to perform at their best level by developing world-class software solutions whilst facilitating and supporting developer communities in building highly skilled and efficient software developers within Africa and beyond.

From the long nights, I spent awake learning how to code, debugging, improving and consistently seeking newer patterns to improve the skill I had cultivated, I believe Andela has the platform to further improve myself not just in skill this time my application devoid of circumstances or pitfalls with people who understand. This support will encourage me in striving to achieve even the most minuscule of goals I have for myself, not only as a software engineer but a person it this society.

“Whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters”
Albert Einstein

“Success Will Come and Go, But Integrity Is Forever” — This quote by Forbes strikes a deep understanding of the need for having integrity as an individual. Integrity simply means the ability to do the right thing amidst familiarity, bias, unfavourable conditions and a plethora of commonly given reasons to default.

Andela highlighting integrity as part of their core values clearly identifies the culture of being indifferent to false practices and always seeking to execute on clearly defined principles.

I was convinced by the process taken to join the fellowship, with different levels of assessment, project management methodology, and workflow just ensuring I was compatible. Also, with special attention given to soft-skills, the ability to communicate genuinely.

“The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.” — Phil Jackson

Collaboration, as encouraged in Andela, clearly fast-tracks progress, increases efficiency finishing important projects and meeting crucial deadlines conveniently.

It challenges people to think, articulate and receive clarity about their competencies while also assisting in problem-solving with a variety of knowledge and skills readily available to the team.

With this, it is highly desirous to collaborate with tremendous individuals that can only push you further to maximizing your potential, for which I am ever desirous.
