Steven Smith vs King Kohli

The upcoming cricketing series in two cricketing powerhouses will be an epic battle to experience. On one hand you have calm composed Steven Smith on the other you have ultra aggressive, hot-headed Virat Kohli. Steve Smith will be hoping to play and score as good as he did during India’s tour of Australia. Around that time , he did thrash Indian bowlers around the park, he did a great job. But will he be able to do so against Indian bowling attack in India remains to be seen. I have no doubt in my mind, the Australian captain will be determined to succeed but how much determined he will be is the question. Will he be more determined than Michael Clarke was when he came to India and was whitewashed 4–0 ? You should also not forget the super human performance of the Steve Smith during India tour of Australia. He averages somewhere 93 in test against India. Will he continue the-run-making-machine-against-India status quo as he faces the hot, humid and happening pitches of India which are considered Mecca for spinners.

The number one ranked bowler in the test ranking will be licking his fingers along with his bat. He is the biggest threat to Steven Smith — the batsman and Steven Smith — the skipper. It’s none other than R Ashwin. R Ashwin has found his mojo every time Indian team needed wickets.

Finger licking tasty !!

Mind you this is not R Ashwin Australia faced during their last outing in India. Most recently R Ashwin bowling has been at his best, he bamboozled the opposition batsmen over and over again. The dip, the spin, the speed, the crease all working in harmony to deliver a spectacular blow to a batsman’s wicket. The strategy, the tactics and know-how-to has been his secret hammer to nail all sort of batsmen. So, Steven Smith should look like the biggest nail in the whole universe and Ashwin definitely looks like the shiniest hammer one can get from the nearby hardware store. It will be an epic battle, both will win few and loose some; but the ratio of win and loose will tilt the trophy in winners favor.

One thing India has to do is minimize the Steven Smith threat as he is biggest of them all. If he gets in to his groove India will be soon done and dusted with the series. He is one of the key player on which India would like to apply some breaks.
