Dear thought leader, you would definitely agree with me that your message will command curiosity for obvious reasons. Humanity will come to the brightness of your rising. Thought leadership is obviously a call to a superior lifestyle.

As you grow, many will come to find out what ‘well’ you’re drinking from (maybe it’s from the villain of this world or from The Creator) and you cannot afford to fail your destiny. You must retain a noble mind and be true.

So if you must go bigger, grow larger and continue being a thought-leader, here are 5 major things you should start doing:

  1. LEARN TO KEEP TO PROMISE:

This sounds simple but it’s important. Your call is one with responsibilities. I will focus this part only on those who borrow money and don’t return.

There are times when you might need to borrow money to run some important projects, that’s fine. But then, REMEMBER TO RETURN.

When you borrow money from your friends and family, please don’t let it slide thinking ‘shebi we’re friends, so he/she should understand.’ NO! It doesn’t work that way. If the person wishes to assist and help you, you wouldn’t need to ask. You’re a leader.

The more you borrow money and don’t return, the more you fall the hand of those who believe in your message. Trust, credibility, and integrity is the rule of this game. When you cannot return on the date promised, nobility demands that you send a message to the person before he or she asks.

2. YOUR CHARACTER WILL NOT CHANGE BY ITSELF:

It is practically erroneous to think your character will grow because ‘you are now a thought-leader.’ No! Growth in life isn’t accidental. You must commit to changing. In order for your gift and message to pass the test of universality, you must commit to changing the way you think and have the mindset of the billionaires you need to be like.

This post is not a call to mention thought leaders who still exhibit some ‘very amazing’ character. Character development is your unique responsibility. Learn to say ‘sorry’ when you flawed. Learn to be civil when sending DM’s. Learn to be humble to all men. And above all, learn to be avoid gossip by all means.

3. NOT ALL YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE NOW USELESS:

So many thought leaders who encountered some big breaks here and there made this mistake. They go like ‘my friends and family don’t want me to live my dreams, so I will discard them.’ Be careful before discarding anyone.

The problem could actually be you. There are countless times where I discovered I am actually the problem in a situation. Yet, I kept accusing my friends and family.

Note that some of your family members are just showing overprotectiveness on you and sometimes get overly zealous in their aim to ‘protect’ you. You need some of them for your grand dream to come true. Make peace with all men.

4. UNDERSTAND FINANCIAL DISCIPLINE:

Thought leadership is a narrow way that is completely feasible only for the diligent and the wise. You must be able to use money wisely else you will go AWOL and your message will not be amplified. You must develop your own unique model of making, investing and ‘spending’ money.

You need money for virtually everything and it’s expedient you understand how money works. To start with, go get the book ‘Think Like A Billionaire: Become A Billionaire by Scot Anderson.’ You will learn many money truths from the book.

5. BE CAREFUL WITH OPPOSITE SEX, MARRY IF YOU HAVE TO:

This part is one that every thought leader needs to learn and know. Feel free to do business with anyone and everyone but set boundaries when ‘business’ negates reasonable ethical values and conducts.

Being a thought leader means that people will get to look at you and lead their lives (sometimes) by the way you live yours. It is important you lead by example, especially with the opposite sex.

FINAL NOTE: With these, you will be on your way to being a thought leader with global recognition. Are you a thought leader in your industry? What have you learned on your journey? Share and let’s learn.
