I agree with this, and it is a difficult position for everyone to be in. After I “woke” so to speak, and fully internalized what white privilege is, I was completely abandoned not only by my friends, but my family.

Similarly, I remained to be seen with suspicion and disinterest by people of color.

I don’t want any sympathy, but it should be known that it will be tough for white people to dismantle white supremacy while being rejected on all sides of the issue.

Even in “progressive” circles, rather than support each other and our united vision, we tear each other down and pick battles over who is privileged enough to say what, or who could never understand what.

You are right. White people have a big fucking problem, and I will go as far as to say that a majority of white people are still racist to this day. Some in big ways, and some in small ways. I will continue fighting for truth and justice, and the more we all work together, the easier it will be for all of us.
