Hillary Clinton, The Alt-Right, And Me
Ella Dawson

Thanks for sharing your story. Those of us who have been in chat rooms since the internet’s inception are well aware of this phenomenon. The internet provides so many avenues for hate and harassment. All without repercussions. All with anonymity. Even those who happily identify themselves face no repercussions for their “free” speech.

The thing is, their speech comes at a terrible cost to those who it is directed towards. Until we find a way to make sense of the nameless, faceless intelligence that IS the internet, this will continue. We never evolved to communicate this way, and it is no surprise that it has gotten out of control.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
