This. I think this is a mistake that people make all the time — and I will admit to having been guilty of it myself at times. Whether it’s that you’re too busy to get to it or too afraid to be the one to deliver bad news, letting things languish like this does in fact close other doors for people. You could have taken it elsewhere. You WOULD have taken it elsewhere. And, for what it’s worth, I’d love to read it — even if it is 12 years late.
