About Healee
Read my previous post to see why we need to start taking care of our health data.
If you thought that health tracking apps and devices were something that belonged to the future, well, the news is you’re already living in it.
There are many apps already which let you take care of your health data and there are a number of devices which can track automatically various health data points.
Apple is also expected to release some apps and devices soon: Details on Apple’s iOS health tracking app hint at advanced iWatch features.
We were not very aware of all the features which one health tracking app should have, at the time we started working on Healee. Yet, we were dead sure on some key principles that should guide us:
- We knew it had to be as secure as possible. That’s why we don’t store any passwords on our servers. People can log in with their Google, Facebook or Yahoo accounts but the password never goes to Healee, only the email. But we decided to make things even more secure and store these emails as other sites and apps normally store passwords — hashed and salted, which means that even we can’t say which health data belongs to whom. And that’s not all. We never ask for names, birth dates, location and other similar data which can even slightly reveal the person that stands behind it.
- We knew that people should be able to access their health data from anywhere. That’s why we made Healee accessible from normal desktop browsers, from mobile browsers and as native mobile apps, which can be installed from Apple App Store and Google Play. The data is stored securely on our servers and accessible at anytime.
- We wanted to make Healee really easy to use. And we’re proud of the end results. Most of the actions require only a few clicks / taps to complete. We ask only for a few fields to be filled in and most of them can even be left with their default values. People usually don’t want to deal with data entry forms which ask for too many unnecessary details, especially when in a hurry or when dealing with health problems.
- We wanted Healee to be free to use. And it is free!
But what does Healee actually do and how it can help?

With Healee you can track your conditions and the associated symptoms.
You can change the condition’s and symptoms’ names and severities at any time.
You can later check these changes up in the history view or in the various reports which take them into account. You can also switch between viewing the condition history and the associated with it treatment(s).

When you create (or while creating) a condition you can also very easily get information about it

or check your symptoms against thousands of symptoms and conditions. Healee will ask you to clarify your symptoms and then it will display the matching conditions which usually lead to similar symptoms.

With Healee you can also easily track the treatment(s) which you have associated with your condition.
If the items which you’ve added to the treatment are medicines (the type of an item can also be therapy, medical aid, etc.) you can check with a single click for interactions with your allergies or for interactions between the medicines in the treatment.
For every item in a treatment you can set dates and times on which you’d like to be notified about it. You can also set a recurrence pattern for these dates.

For every medicine item in a treatment, you can get additional details. Healee will search among thousands of marketed drug names and will provide the most relevant information available.

Another feature of Healee is the Profile management, where you can track your vital signs, body measurements, genetics, allergies and medical lab results.
Any change to your profile data is recorded automatically and you can later track the history in the reports which we provide.
We make it really easy for you to deal with even more complicated data forms (such as the medical lab results) and it could only take seconds to enter the information which you consider important.

And we also provide relevant information (curated range, information extracted from various publicly available resources and so on) for most of the components.

But what could all this information, which you enter in Healee, be good for?
One good reason for you to start using Healee is that you’ll always have at your disposal your complete health data, the way you’ve entered it in Healee. This data won’t be updated only once in a while, when you visit a specialist, but whenever you find a good reason to do it.
Healee also provides several reports (and we plan to add more) which you can run against your data and which could give you a good insight into some aspects of your health.
For example, it can show you how often a symptom has occurred in the conditions, which you’ve entered in Healee, how efficient are the treatments which you have specified and so on.

Last but not least, Healee lets you share your health data (or part of it) completely anonymously so that you can ask a professional for an advice or opinion.

You can share it through any medical forum or you can use any other medium, which you find appropriate.
When you want to stop sharing your data, you can just delete the share.
Does all this make sense together? Would you consider using Healee? Or maybe you wouldn’t? In both cases, your feedback and suggestions will be appreciated and more than welcome!
