Almost time for fly-fishing
With my new job and being a husband, I’ve put all my hobbies on the backburner. One of the things I enjoy the most is fly-fishing. If I can catch a fish with something that I tied, it makes it that much better.

Here are a couple of bead-headed wooly buggers I recently tied. The recipe isn’t elaborate as some flies I’ve seen. For me, simple streamer hooks, chenille, hackle, marabou, bead head, and some pearl flash.
I find that there are a lot of times where simple is just better. I see a lot of guys throwing things that just look good to the human eye, but not to a fish.
Regardless, yes, I can’t wait to get out onto the water. It is synonymous to therapy for me to dive into self-reflection, and other things in life that I should be doing; but all this is for free.
I’ve never understood why it is so relaxing. Is it the chase, mother nature, or the spotty cellular service so no one can reach you? Or maybe, it is the fact that I want to do it and don’t get to do it as often, that makes it exciting.
