One Man’s Journey To Inspire hope…

HELLO WORLD! My name is Richard Hanson.

Nelson Mandela said it best: “It always seems impossible until its done.”

I agree. “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. — Lao Tzu

”Starting to blog was my first step. With information now at the click of a button, I hope to better serve you and the global community with valuable content, so together we can pioneer the future courageously.

Let me start off by saying the #1 reason for blogging on medium wasn’t because I was looking for something more to do, I just realize the internet’s ability to connect a message, to a global audience. With that being said, my message is about one man’s journey to inspire hope.

Hope is powerful. Without it, we lose our ability to navigate the tumultuous seas called life. Now, don’t get me wrong, I don’t claim to have a hold on it, or for that matter, have I mastered it. But, one thing I know, I have a passion for people. You see, I’m just an ordinary guy who’s learned a thing or two as I’ve traveled the world bringing a message of hope.

I love what G. M Trevelyan says:
“Never tell a young person that anything cannot be done. God may have been waiting centuries for someone ignorant enough of the impossible to do that very thing.”

Imagine…We might be the ones who believe we’re called to do the impossible, and actually accomplish it by faith.

Let me ask you a question?
What’s the most impossible situation you face?
Write it down on a piece of paper…this is now your mission possible!

You see every adventure has a starting point; and every new beginning requires a necessary ending. Are you ready put an end to some things and truly start living life?

Remember, at any given time you have the right to say, “this is not how my story is going to end.’

Oftentimes, the problem closest to us is our present assignment. Everyone wants more freedom. But, sometimes they just don’t know where to begin. Let me give you a key that you can start using right away. When I first started applying this principle to my daily life, I immediately saw results. I think we all want results. Right? We don’t go to the gym just to go. We go to the gym because we are expecting results. You aren’t just taking the time to read this blog because you have nothing else to do. No, you’re reading this to achieve a result!

So here’s the key…..Solve a problem.

You might be saying, “that’s it?!” Yep. Apply it today and watch your life dramatically change. The only thing stopping you from having the future you’ve always dreamed about is, you guessed it…a problem.

One of the greatest tragedies in life is to go to the grave never releasing that which is inside of you. Think about it…We spend billions of dollars and vast amounts of time, energy & effort mining out what’s beneath the surface of the earth, but very little goes into the greatest resource we have available…You & I.

You owe it to yourself, to really dig down deep into your core, and say…“I choose to die empty, I choose to unlock the potential within me.”

What do I mean by dying empty? It means, don’t complete your journey in life with your gifts still locked up inside of you. Your gift is a solution to a problem. Sometimes it might feel like you’re being shucked to get out the pearl of great price, but do whatever it takes to get it out, so that the world can enjoy the beauty and richness of your gift. I believe a man’s gift makes room for him and brings him into greatness.

“I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.” — MichaelAngelo

“A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single man contemplates it, bearing within him the image of a cathedral.” — Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Allow me a minute to explain what I mean. I came from very humble beginnings. All my life I’ve faced my share of failures, setbacks and fears. All my life I’ve faced critics, haters & unbelievers. But, I never let it define who I was on the inside.

You see…deep down inside I’ve always believed in impossible things. I had a dream that one person really could make the world a better place. Maybe you can identify with me? Maybe like me you’ve had to pick yourself up and pull yourself together after another failed attempt at a dream or an idea that others said was humanly impossible?

You see all men were created equal…but few men really live. What’s the point of living a dream that’s not your own? I want to encourage you to dream again. Really dream. Dream big.

What is it that makes you feel fully alive? Go do it. What is it that makes you wake up every morning full of hope? Go for it!

Benjamin Franklin said this, “Most men die at 25 and aren’t buried until later on in life”

Think about it, by the time must of us our fresh out of school our hopes, dreams & aspirations have already been beaten out of us by life, so for the remainder of our life, we go through the motions, without any real emotion.

If you want to begin a new journey, you must end the one you are currently on. You just have to see it as a close of an old chapter in your life.

I believe it’s the starting point to becoming YOU, the one you’ve always imagined. Not the one your family, friends, or life say’s you are. I’m talking about the REAL you. The one that’s been in hiding. It’s time to come out and show your true self to the world. You’re a master piece waiting to be discovered.

My friend, you’re alive for such a time as this! I’m excited about walking through this new door with you. We’re stronger together, than we are apart. That’s the power of connection. Isn’t that what everyone wants? To be heard, to be loved, to know that our lives matter.

So, get out that new pair of running shoes and get ready to run with the new idea, business, dream or relationship. You name it. Don’t let anything stop you from being YOU.

I’ve seen the future, it’s bright and filled with so much promise. Hope for a better tomorrow. You are never to old or too young to begin to dream This is your moment of self discovery. This is your hour to shine!

AWAKE O dreamer!
LIVE. O dreamer!
LOVE. O dreamer!
INSPIRE O dreamer!

I’ll leave you with this thought: Maybe we should all hold a funeral service for our old man, you know, the one were not taking with us into the future.

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” Lao Tzu

Now its your turn, to take that first step.Together, lets rise up in the power of love and make the world a better place for generations to come.

I’ll see you on the other side.

Much Love,
RH
