  • You might need an ID to adjust a Discord bot’s settings or to automate any task within Discord.
  • Every Discord user, message, role, channel, and emoji has a unique ID.
  • You must enable Developer mode first. To do this, go to your Settings > Advanced > toggle on Developer mode
Toggle on Developer mode

Once it’s enabled, you can now copy any ID that you want.

For Mobile users

  • If a mobile user wants to copy the ID of — let’s say — channel, then they need to mention the channel and add a backslash symbol \ before it and hit send.
  • Then they need to copy the message and paste the ID wherever they want to and remove the symbols from it
  • The process is the same for any user, emojis, and roles
We only need the numbers so don’t forget to remove the symbols from the ID wherever you will be pasting it

For Desktop/Web users

User ID

  • To copy any user ID, simply right-click on their profile picture and then click on Copy ID
Right-click on the profile picture then select Copy ID

Server ID

  • Right-click on the server icon and select Copy ID
Copy server ID

Emoji, Role, and Channel ID

  • The process for copying the ID for an emoji, role, or channel is also the same. Just right-click on them and select Copy ID.

This will copy the ID to your clipboard, you can now paste it wherever you want.
