Firebase made the pricing changes in August 2015 (I was a customer at the time and saw our bill increase). They wrote to customers about it, and published a blog post about it. For some reason you thought $25 per month was reasonable for a service with thousands of users and didn’t question why it didn’t apply to you?
Umm… $2,000 a month isn’t a particularly high bill at all. Expecting to pay $25 a month for a service that is core to your business with thousands of users in every country in the world is not sustainable. You should have been expecting an increase at some point!
For me USB-C is the future. One interface for all of your peripherals. You will no longer need a separate port for power, for video display, for anything really… for any wired connection, USB-C will be the only port you need.
