Inspiring article Nicole. I think that step #1 to increasing diversity in the workplace is to admit you need change(i.e. releasing diversity statistics). Most of the larger tech companies did this a few years back. It really helps in the job search to be able to see a companies numbers year by year and view the progress they have made. It’s not about low numbers as much as being public with that data so applicants can see that you care and the progress you have made. Does your company make that information available to applicants and the public? If so, how much resistance was there to doing so?
