Phot by Nanda Green

I don’t need too much
I get along in life well with less
I don’t need the attention of many
My survival, not based on it
All I need is the attention of one
All I need are necessities
My wants have nothing to do with my necessities
Wants are a luxury
Our necessities, are necessities
Our wants depend on our status and culture
Our needs are about being human
We all need the same things to survive
But today’s human condition is a lie
Not authentic
Very out of touch with “normalcy”
I worry about that
I try to remain optimistic
I turn to brainstorming ways to fix it
How can we stay in touch with our true selves?
A self not too lost in culture
Is that even possible?
