For this Euro Trip we took Euro Rail to get round different countries. However we flew from Croatia to Barcelona, which was our last country of this trip.

I had heard so much about Barcelona. Weather is perfect 365 days, you can shop till you drop at brands like Zara and Mango, it has amazing architecture/culture and let me tell you, Barcelona is all of that and much more.
We landed in Barcelona, checked in our hostel and left immediately to have dinner with my friend YanHui and his family. He has been living in Barcelona for a while and knows some of the best places to hangout. Without phone is it difficult to commute around but I managed. We booked a cab and looked around for the restaurant once the car dropped us.
We met at Cera23. It is a cozy Spanish restaurant in Barca. We ate octopus, black rice risotto (for the first time) and some other things I don’t even remember. But steal was the black berry mojito. OMG!! I might have said this before for other mojito but THIS MOJITO IS LIFE. I can drink like 4 to 5 of these its so yummy. Samantha & YanHui just had another baby so I was even more exciting to meet the family. I got introduced to Pauline who turned out to be a common friend. Small world indeed. YanHui & Samantha you guys are just amazing. Thanks for the warm and fancy welcome to the city.

Next morning we were suppose to meet Priyanka’s friends friend in Barca, who owns an Indian/Spanish restaurant. We ate our first ‘Paella’ and some good Indian food there.

We came back to the hostel after lunch and decided to chill and figure out things to do. Where we met one of the entertainer of hostel. She asked us to join her to explore city. More like a walking tour. We got dressed and went along with her. She didn’t inform us much about the places but she was fun and took us to small lanes and hidden shopping spots. We hung out with her for a few hours and came back to the hostel to chill before dinner. I found a Vietnamese place near by. After dinner we hung out in the hostel cafe and made some new friends ❤

For next morning we had blocked a seat for free walking tour. It was super fun. We were picked by a group, taken to a meeting ground, assigned a guide, who was very informative. We met an Indian boy on his first solo backpacking trip. I offered him to join us post tour to see Camp Nu and Familia Sagrada. It was a fun day. I shopped for my brother and became a fan of Gaudi ❤

We came back to our hostel and got ready to go for Pub Crawl with hostel friends. Crashed a bachelorette, AGAIN, made new friends and boogied away the night. We were then taken for an after party to somebodies house. WHAT A NIGHT!

Woke up with a hang over and here is where our plans started to fail. We had to move to another hostel.
Here is why?
From Barcelona I had planned 1 night stay in Madrid, Ibiza and a day visit to Andorra. Nothing went as planned. Lets talk about Andorra and our adventure. I had booked hostel in Madrid, planned what to do once we get there, but I didn’t book our travel from Barca to Madrid. BECAUSE I read online that there are frequent and economical trains that doesn’t need any prior booking. You can read full story here-> ANDORRA ADVENTURE
When I checked a day prior, tickets were as expensive as getting back to India (little exaggerating here) But seriously it was EXPENSIVE! So I took a call to not go to Madrid, quickly cancelled hostel booking (didn’t get charged). Now the biggest issue was, we didn’t have a stay in Barca for that night. Our hostel in Barca was booked, so we had to look for an accommodation. After a lot of struggle, found one decent hostel near by. I decided to visit Andorra the next day, but Priyanka was dicey. She wanted to stay back and shop. But as I figured out the commute, she decided to join me. Again commute was a pain. Buses would take much time and trains were again not a question. Someone at the hostel suggested “why don’t you try BlaBlaCar?” I checked the app and found our ride to and fro, Andorra. Priyanka also joined me for the trip and we came back the same night. ANDORRA ADVENTURE
We found another hostel, moved there and then headed out to shop! And also this is the day I met my friend Nicola. Nicola and I went for Cisco training together in Bombay. He left for London and we haven’t met since. When he heard I am going to be in Spain, he flew down to hang out with me for 2 days. This is why I love my friends. They go out of their way to make me feel special. We met Nicola in La Rambla. He walked the streets and showed us where he stayed before and took us to an amazing hidden cafe. We had coffee and caught up with time. It was wonderful. He then left us to explore La Rambla and we decided to meet before he flew back to London.

The day we came back from Andorra we checked in to our old hostel again. Spend the night using Wifi in the hostel and recharging for the next day.
Next morning we met Nicola for coffee and breakfast, after which he was on his way to London and we went to shop!

We finished our shopping and came back with 2 twin bags. Packed our bags and slept with a heavy heart. Last day in Barcelona well spent!

With that my #eurotrip2016 comes to an end! Hope you enjoyed it !
