Thanks for the comments, Todd.

Our Iceland guide doesn’t currently have a sponsor, so there’s nothing in there from any travel company at all!

When we secure a sponsor for a guide we add their company profile at the back of the guide and list some of their tours in a clearly marked section at the front.

The editorial content and the recommendations in the guides are unaffected by the sponsor — it’s all been written and published before the sponsor even gets involved.

We’re building our brand on a strict church/state separation between advertising and editorial. No blurred lines.

Not entirely sure what you mean about the links/Adwords. Our sponsors’ primary benefit is opt-in leads and booking enquiries captured through our website. It’s not a PPC model, sponsors simply pay us a fixed monthly fee for a number of leads per month.

And finally (!) each author is recruited from our network based on their destination expertise. Their bios and credentials are in the front of each guide.

Hope that helps! Thanks again for your interest, and of course I’d love to talk with your pops!
