Really interesting piece. I also have a canon of personal favourites that have soundtracked my entire life. Some I own on CD, others on vinyl, one or two on C90 recorded via tape-to-tape. These days i mainly access them via Spotify (well, you try finding a decent quality tape-deck in 2017). I kid myself that the trickle of revenue each listen will generate is better than the zero revenue they’d receive if I simply blew the dust of the CD jewel case. Am I right? Probably not. Like everything else about the streaming economy, only time will tell.
