Gran Canaria

Another work trip, another Canary Island! This time around it was Gran Canaria. I was based in the resort of Playa Del Ingles which was very busy considering it was early March. It turned out that the island is a favourite haunt for the Scandinavian market at that time of year, it turns out they like to party just as hard as us Brits!

Out of the seven resorts I visited, the place I liked the most was Maspalomas; large dunes created from desert sands, blown all the way over from the Sahara, line the shore, the beach full of fine sand and turquiose sea water.

I can see why Gran Canaria is a popular destination, it’s reasonably cheap, has an abundance of hotels and apartments, it has great weather all year round and has a little something for everyone; for Families there’s Aqualand and Palmitos Park and the beaches of Puerto Rico. Those seeking peace and quiet swarm to Mogans sleepy fishing villages and Playa Del Ingles hosts a vibrant Gay scene.

As always I enjoyed my trip to Gran Can, I even went ‘Typical Brit’ and ate a Curry while there, it was one of the best I’d had in a long time…

Below area a small selection of images I took to satisfy my own creative yearnings.
