Perhaps the best solution for US politics would be to move to a system of proportional representation and away from a two party system where ‘win at all costs (both monetary and through mud-slinging)’ seems to predominate. From the outside it seems that the US is not governed by politicians but rather powerful vested interests that will do anything to protect their position (and wealth). There are many challenges facing the USA. I’m not sure if either of the current presidential candidates understand what they are and how to deal with them.
