I didn’t talk around it. I directly said that at this stage, I do not personally support Mr. Trump or his campaign. He has not, yet, earned my vote, and he does not yet have it.

And according to data from Real Clear Politics, Mr. Trump won ~42% of the popular vote in the Republican Primaries up to the point the other candidates withdrew from the race. That is a plurality, but not a majority. Most Republicans, based on actual votes cast, wanted someone else as their nominee. He did not, by any measure, win support from the vast majority of the Republican Party.

He has not won my support, nor did he win the support of a majority of Republicans. But he did win the nomination, and I respect that.
