Sometimes, Simple is Hard
As I said at the start of my Do Lecture yesterday, I feel like I’ve been on quite a journey to get here. And I don’t mean the 300 miles from my home in Leigh-on-Sea over here to the west of Wales.
I mean in my journey to me.
In the last couple of days I have seen some amazing talks. People telling the stories behind their startups, young women looking to change the world, an entrepreneur talking about Bitcoin. There were some complex themes shared on stage.
My talk was the opposite of complex – it was simple. Just me, standing on stage talking about me. Telling my real story. Simple, right?
But actually – standing there being so open, sharing things I’d never shared before, was one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life.
Sometimes simple is hard.
