After three months of confronting delusional Brexit populists repeating mantras in the referendum I was shattered by the result and then returned to find the party to find it swamped with what are basically Kippers through the left wing looking glass. No weight of empirical evidence will persuade Corbynites he’s a busted flush and they retrench into conspiracy theories and are full of pious narcissism that anyone who disagrees with them must be venal and corrupt. I still attend the CLP meetings and if Jez is re-elected I’ll be happy to let Corbyn supporters hit the streets for next year’s elections. In other words let them eat their own shit sandwiches. I’ve no place in the post-truth political landscape of Corbyn and Brexit and will be happy to take it easy for a bit and watch them hoisted by their own petard in the coming months.
