Thank you for taking the time to share some of your approaches for networking and increasing your readership.

I would be curious to hear if other freelancers have also had success utilizing your approach of reaching out to websites and blogs that have interests or styles similar to your own. To me, this approach makes sense and I would think it could only help freelancers in acquiring more clients and gigs. At the very least, reaching out to them already puts you in a better position than all of the freelancers that aren’t doing this.

I know that you mentioned following your own advice regarding this more and this makes me wonder how many freelancers are reliably searching for new websites or blogs and sending out pitches or inquiries to them on a daily basis.

I do not have as much experience on the freelancer side of things but I would think that this consistency in devoting time to finding and acquiring new clients every day could be the difference between major success as a freelancer and potential failure.

Part of me questions if this basically comes down to the difference between someone treating something (in this case, freelancing) like a hobby versus a business.

I hope my article and your comment can help remind other freelancers to treat their freelancing like the latter.

I also think it is a great idea that you are using a platform, in this case Medium, to create an online presence for yourself and your content. I think this is also a good idea for any freelancers that are not already doing this, because I know that as a client, the IAPWE would look at a freelancer with published work in a more favorable light than a freelancer with no online content presence.

I am not sure if I am out of the loop but I never heard of Reductress until you mentioned it. I will definitely check it out.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts.
