I believe that a piece of technology need to be able to function well and do it’s job, but what makes it even better is the said’s technology’s ability to adapt to different environments and keep up the good performance. That’s what I consider a truly transcendent piece of code.
I don’t mind Apple; I even admit that they have some of the best apps developed for it and have a great support. They know their user interface and their environment is seamless. Having said that, what I don’t really like about Apple is how much over priced it really is. It’s difficult for a lower-middle class person to experience the great features available in the Apple environment because to own an iPhone, an iPad and a Mac means having to save up money for 6–8 months. Along with that, there is a problem of Apple products not having much room to adapt to a different environment. Although, admittedly that problem have been reduced to a large extent in the past updates.
When it comes to Google, I enjoy how they cater to every platform and gives the users room to customize and make Google environment their own. Plus it is not that expensive, at almost half the price of an Apple equivalent. There are a lot of variants to choose from. Also, if you want, you can design your own environment that suits your needs. You can use a calendar from an external source if you don’t like the one Google gives you. And that wouldn’t hurt you a bit.
This ability of Google products to adapt to different devices and environments gives it edge over its competitors. It’s easy to win soccer on your home pitch, what’s difficult is to beat a team at their’s.
