THE PROBLEM
I belong to marketing department & we need to give demonstration of our instruments and also provide complete units for surgeries to doctors. Some time we need to get instruments and machine out of the store on urgent basis and here the problem arises.
“Delay in inventory proceeding to get the stock from the store. due to lack of proper channel between sales and marketing dpt. and store management”
Many of the stock is sometimes out of Karachi office and we do not have the stock update excess on our systems. Due to which we forward our request first to operation department who initially approves it by studying the requirement then it goes to the store manager who checks the stock and then replies to the operation than they inform us if there is something currently out of stock
THE SOLUTION:
I believe that the technology involvement factor is missing from my organization. This problem has been faced from all the sales and marketing staff from our office, every one keeps on complain on this issue but no one has ever proposed a proper solution to it. The reason behind was there was no proper problem statement before.
I have proposed this solution in recent meeting that a proper cloud need to be formed whose excess suppose to be available on every product mangers laptop and may be on mobile app as well. When ever they need something from the store to be released for urgent surgery basis or even for simple demonstration they just have to open this app and check the inventory through the cat. number of the item. They would get to know what is the current status of that item. It is available or has been ordered or even sent to somewhere else for surgery or demo, it may be ordered if not available and if it is not available then they could drop a request of that same item on the same cloud to the store in charge so that he can ask the operation to excess.
In this way the barrier between store and marketing team will be transformed into a bridge and operations will be more relaxed even. As after having the proper stock update the Product manager could forward the request to operations who then do not have to check the stock they can simply work on other processing which would not take and consume much time. This may be an innovation in your operation effectiveness as it is not a part of our strategy but still surely helps a lot in a profitable manner

Almost all companies face this similar sort of issue from there inventory. In response to which the doctors and surgeons always keeps on complaining with every vender.
