I would add the infamous (and always over optimistic) top down approach to determine market penetration potential. If the entrepreneur has not spent time sizing up the market by making an honest and unbiased evaluation of how viable their product or service might be, and how they plan to reach their targets (which should tie in with their business plan/organisation/burn rate) then they have really not done their homework.
