Movies are a big part of my life because I simply enjoy watching them — I never had any desire to make them or be in them. Some of my earliest memories involve movies. With this series I will explore everything movie related that is important to me in some way, and I will do so per year…

Most of 1972 I was only three years old, so I’m not gonna lie: even if I actually saw a movie back then, I don’t remember it. So I went through the 200 most popular of the almost 4000 released that year (according to IMDb), because if I saw a movie from 1972, it was several years later and most likely the popular titles.

The Godfather

Needless to say that this is a timeless classic. Nevertheless it didn’t even make my all-time top 50 — don’t ask my why, but I just didn’t feel the vibe. So the movie itself did not really impress me, but it introduced me to some great actors, particularly Al Pacino, Robert Duvall and James Caan.

The Getaway
