Start Rattling Your Cage

Those rods of steel have begun to rust,
why is the padlock hanging undisturbed?

Oh my friend, rattle your cage.

Curling in the darkest corner of your prison,
just a small crosshatched view of the world around you.

Oh my friend, rattle your cage.

Those callous marks and hurting joints,
place them firmly on a single point,

Oh my friend, rattle your cage.

It’s beginning to loosen and the door is ajar,
the lock is weak, there is strength in your scars.

Oh my friend, enrage your cage!

The hinges are creaking and with one final shake,
let’s see how much more it can take…

Oh my friend, the door is open.

You’ve done it now, my brother-in-arms.
see for yourself, there is no harm.

Oh my friend, your cage has been opened.
