Thank you Laura for your referent Orwellian piece on Mr Ted Cruz. In common vernacular, this read was “a hoot.” However, we live in a world where your farcical piece is an all to real reality. We know there are young people who, through whatever influences, are drawn to the ideas entombed within the ranks of racial privilege, class, and ideology. These views are carried within each of us like the hump of a camel, an inherent, noticeable and functional appendage that serves our personal, and biological survival. In the case of Mr. Cruz, the camel’s hump is an ideology of self-interested goal objectives paired with delusional hubris. As Orwell’s work has warned in the words of newspeak “truth is lies.”
