The African Kid's Day.
On June 16, events will be held throughout the world to commemorate the Day of the African Child. Here are some things you should be aware of today, as well as why children's rights in Africa are so fundamental.
The annual event on June 16 honours the memories of students who were massacred in Soweto, South Africa, in 1976 for opposing educational deceit and injustice in the politically sanctioned racial segregation system.
The African Association designated it as Day of the African Child in 1991, and events are often organised to enhance children's liberties.
The current year's theme is "*Right to Participate*: Allow Children to Be Seen and Heard."
