The more real-life experience I gain the more I realize how important the concept of feedback is for becoming a better human, designer and creating valuable experiences. Half way into my summer design journey, I’m sharing a few hidden nuggets you may be missing out on if you don’t value and receive good user feedback;

▪️Easily uncover bugs.
If you’ve experienced Product Managers who were deathly afraid of shipping anything that was less than perfect, they want to test it again and again and again until they’ve ironed out every single bug, you’d know the struggle.
The reality is, it’s almost impossible to track down every bug before you release, and honestly there is nothing better than fresh pair of unpixelated eyes to review your designs.

▪️Make improvements on the content in your design
Poor digital content can confuse, alienate, or even offend your users. Now, I get that some people may argue that when wireframing its okay not to have remotely related content
Lorem Ipsum is great but, having some actual or even fictional content can go a long way in guiding your user to flowing with your solutions.

▪️Build better hypotheses for A/B test
User feedback goes a long way in aiding your A/B cases. If you think about it, carrying out an A/B test on your product without factoring in user feedback is actually just you testing your own assumptions. If you go with that approach, you may end up using bias reasoning that you feel can solve your user problems.

PS: When the tables are turned and you find yourself on the giving end of feedback, and this may apply to everyone; because we are all users. Try to understand the perspectives, problems, and solutions & Refrain from usual lines - “This is great!” or, “ This is bad!” etc. Instead, be more specific in context - “This is a great way of showing the right information to the user.” or “This seems to be not the optimal way to show the information. Did you consider alternatives?”
“The key to good feedback is a balance of heart and mind.” - RYAN DONAHUE

Share early, Share often - as sung by one of the amazing senior managers that I’ve worked with.
