Hakone! What a place; air, nature, architecture, food and everything is so memorable! You should definitely go for one night trip!

For those who have motion sickness, do not forget to bring some medicine. You can find these medicine from kombini and drugstore.

First buy your 2 day free pass ticket from Odakyu Sightseeing Service Center, Shinjuku West for 5700yen and it really worth it. It is actually cheaper if you buy the pass.

Then take the train to Hakone Yumato and it takes about 2 hours. The station is full of shops for omiyage and food. But be aware that most of them closes around 5pm and you’ll almost see noone but the dark after sunset.

I would recommend you the NARAYA CAFE. It is cafe with foot onsen. You can drink tea with yuzu, while feeling the warm water with herb under your feet. Such a combination! The drink was around 450yen. http://naraya-cafe.com/en/

Our hotel had onsen and the view was epic. You can see the lake beside. I almost slept in the onsen, too relaxing. Per person is 4500yen (group of four).

We put our bags in one locker (all of them) and began the sightseeing. Here is the classic example of effective usage of locker! :)

We took bus to Moto Hakone to see the lake Ashi with the shrine! I was silent for a while to find the word to describe the masterpiece.

Took the boat to Togendai.

There was restaurant heading the lake, you can have lunch and enjoy the scene. Epic! Then we took the ropeway and due to the recent typhoon we went directly to Sounzan.

Then we took cable car to Gora to visit the garden.

Then we took bus to Hakone Glass Forest Venetian Glass Museum which is full of glass sculptures.

And headed back to Shinjuku and do not forget to check the time for your last bus.
