It’s been reported that Germany will replace their G36 rifles with the HK416. Made by the same company. What the article doesn’t address is whether Spain and Saudi Arabia are having the same issues with their locally produced weapons?

The M16/AR15 went through similar defects and issues in Vietnam. Is the G36 not mature enough? Or did HK do a poor job of manufacturing? Are the rifle’s magazine junk? Is the ammo issued to the Heer substandard?

It’s also been reported that France is going to replace their FAMAS rifles with the HK416. Will the British be next? The USMC is buying itself a version of the HK416 as a squad automatic rifle. I see a trend. Anyone out there have any thought on all of this?
