For sure! It seems the only place we can exercise choice in our tools is our personal workflow and environment. Using tool A vs B there is a choice based on need or curiosity. But when it comes to using tools to interact with others, that’s where those defaults kick in and as often as not the tool that is used is done so for no particular reason. Facebook, Medium, and a range of other services might all fall into “don’t know why, but that’s where the people are”.
