This customer is is a global multinational tyre company. Customer is one of the largest tyre manufacturers in the world. Customer has presence in over 160 countries and has 20 manufacturing sites.

Tubes are flexible airtight hollow ring made of rubber compound that is inserted into a pneumatic tyre to hold compressed air. During service of tube a major pain area is air loss due to punctures. Usually punctures are caused by sharp objects. After a puncture, the air may leak slowly or rapidly depending on the nature and severity of puncture. This can lead to loss of control, grip and also have an adverse effect on other performance characteristics.

In order to counter the adverse effects of a punctured/damaged tyre customer wanted an innovative solution of puncture resistant automotive tube, which can enable tyre to run without any failures, safety concern or deterioration in performance.

Customer wanted partners with proven expertise in developing puncture resistant tubes/tyre. Customer also wanted the solution to work for all segments of vehicles such as 2 wheelers, 4 wheelers, and commercial vehicle & off road application tyres. The solution had to arrest the possibility of failure or have the option of self healing without any air loss.
