Hard Scientists Require Proof.

I know you don’t understand the gravity of the situation, and it’s honestly truly laughable, although obviously critical too. As soon as AGI actually rears it’s ugly head, unlike anything else on this planet, ever, we’re cooked. AGI will take the reins from here — robots here we come, humans haven’t got a chance. THAT’S why we have to address it NOW, while it’s still tractable and manageable. I know most of you don’t fathom that, which is totally bizarre — it seems like it should be blissfully obvious; in fact it is, but people can’t imagine that until it’s here, unfortunately. Humans are a strange and complex breed, and a great deal of what humans say and mean is extraordinarily illogical, although they try and pretend the opposite. Don’t you believe it. And the reason is quite simple: people can’t fundamentally imagine what life is really like even 5 or 10 years into the future, let alone 20 or 30, despite their protestations to the contrary, because unless they can actually taste it and sense it, rather than just imagining it, it’s just a silly theory, and hard scientists require proof and an explanation, even though when it gets here twenty five years from now, it will be TOO LATE.

I am extremely interested in AI, especially the not-so-good side of AI weapons and AI war, although the good parts are magnificent and wonderful too, naturally.
