Whether purchasing a multi-touch table that’s featured on our website, or creating your own custom table design, the manufacturing process is very much the same. As designers and manufacturers, iDesign Cafe, not only has some of the best touch tables on the market, but we have the capabilities to create single unit orders of your own custom designs. This short article will guide you through our process from the moment you place an order with us to when your product arrives at your door.

The first step is consulting with one of our sales experts to discuss your options and narrow down the best match for your business needs. Some of the questions we will ask is your use case, which helps us identify the type of computer specifications required, as well as the screen resolution most suitable for your use. Often customers want a specific product from our site and may already know their requirements. We can upgrade any of our specs to meet your needs. Some client want custom designs and we work with them to create a mock-up “sketch” of their concept before an order is made.

Once and order is placed, products featured on our website catalog are put in production within 1–2 days. For custom orders, our engineers need to create technical drawings of the exact dimensions, as well as creating 3D CAD drawings of the structure, components, hardware mounts, and wiring details. This can take 3–5 days and once complete we will email them to our client for approval, so we both confirm the exact specs of the product before any production has begun.

The next step is to send the CAD drawings to manufacturing, where the design is created from cold rolled steel and aluminum. The manufacturing process can take up to 15 days to complete a shell. We then analyze and test the structure for stability and make any necessary adjustments before it is sent for painting.

In our painting department the shell is primered and painted in your choice of Pantone color. It may take up to 3 days to dry. The shell is then inspected, reassembled, and sent to our electronics department for installation.

Our engineers then install the touchscreen, power supply, and computer components. A 4mm protective tempered glass (scratch resistant, anti-graffiti, anti-glare) overlay is placed over the screen, and Windows 8/10 operating system is installed and tested. The electronics installation process takes about 3 days to complete.

Finally, your product is carefully and professionally packaged, boxed, and crated for pick up. If your product will be moved around we recommend adding a protective flight case to your order. We deliver anywhere in the world in 4–7 days via express air freight. You product will usually arrive within 30 days from time of payment. We often will fly to our clients place of business once their product has arrived to demo and make sure installation was a success. We strive to make our customers happy and seek to develop lasting relationships, giving technical support when needed and assisting with their innovation goals.
