Victoria, are you seriously saying that white people have never been the victims of racism? Do you truly believe that a white person has never been denied a right based on their race? I am not intending to defend white people. I am just trying to understand the difference in who is allowed to be offended and who is not. On most of the sites I visit it is an axiom that something is offensive or racist if the subject of the comment, policy, portrayal, etc. says it is offensive or racist (e.g. the Redskin name). But when white people complain about being offended by something they are routinely told they have no right to be offended. How is that justified?
