From Figure to SIMA
Two worlds are colliding.
We have just witnessed quite a leap in robotics from two fronts, Figure AI’s talking robot, and Google’s generalistic agent SIMA.
But no, this is not AGI, as some lavish yet unsubstantiated claims have been thrown around and no, I’m not going to tell you that robots are going to kill us all.
However, both news are already pretty interesting alone, but the synergies between them are, in my view, the first baby steps of AI embodied intelligence.
