The New Frontier, Worse than The Previous One?
A group of researchers at Tsinghua University (if it doesn’t ring a bell, it’s sort of the MIT of China) has presented research on reasoning models that have spooked many: they aren’t nearly as smart as some claim, showing fascinating proof many will find shocking.
This industry is so high on AI fever that it has completely lost the plot, with claims such as ‘superintelligence is nigh’ when the truth is actually much, much less appealing, and this paper is coming towards the industry like a wrecking ball.
