This is not a tariffs post, don’t worry. Sadly, it’s actually worse.

I rarely, if ever, publish my thoughts on politics, let alone regarding countries that aren’t mine. It just doesn’t sit well with me.

But I really feel we need to talk about a particular decision by the Trump Administration today with an OpenAI researcher because I think that this could be quite literally the beginning of the US’ ‘AI suicide’ or a perfect exemplar of an ‘Undermining your Country’s Future 101’ class.

Ironically, I call this ‘Making Canada Great Again.’

First principles analysis and AI in a world filled with false experts using incomprehensible jargon don’t usually go together.
