At my organization I do just that. I call it The Guide and use it to explain how we use different modeling techniques as well as catalog the systems we’ve delivered. This approach emphasizes our approach to making a business case for our technology and attributing gains to the tools that made them possible afterwards. It’s a labor of love that sneaks out of my workday into my evening or weekend sometimes, but leadership gets everything moving in the same direction. The payoff for the extra work is clarity on the team, setting the standard around model testing, platform support, communication with others outside the data services team, and the ability to consider different approaches to the work.
