Writing out key arguments is a very important one, as I’ve come to realise. Even if you have only one minute to prepare. That thing about striking a “superhero” pose for 30 seconds beforehand surprisingly works as well (in the toilet, not in front of the audience…). Definitely not rushing through it — ”one breath / one thought” was some good advice I had from an actor. How to deliver / behave yourself is also just as important as thinking about the audience. Consider how you need to influence them, what you want them to leave with in their minds, and make those bits stand out —in speech and on screen — and repeat it at the end. Try to tell your stuff as a bit of a story arc, no matter how tedious it is. Emote a bit to grab attention, people have very little of it. Engage the audience by asking them a question at the start. And finish early ☺ I’m as introverted as they come, but with a few techniques, prep of key points, and believing that what you have to tell the audience will be interesting for them, presentations can be enjoyable!
