Discrete CL models the price continuum as a series of discrete ticks that form price ranges, similar to an order book protocol. Liquidity is allocated within the ticks, where it follows the constant sum formula, commonly used in DEXs for price ranges or the whole price continuum.
Another feature that distinguishes Biswap V3 from others is that it enables developers to implement limit orders, functionality that is challenging to add for EVM blockchains. Tick ranges enable the most natural execution of limit orders.
Therefore, discrete concentrated liquidity offers several advantages over the existing DEX products:
1) Discrete model. This enhances capital efficiency, such as 80% LP rewards, and reduces price slippage.
2) Limit orders. A user experience improvement that is essential for trading and swaps.

This allows liquidity providers to influence the fee rate in the pool in real time by choosing their preferred fee tier within a predefined range.
