It is not advisable to cut through the end grain of wood because this could result in the wood splitting or splintering. In addition, cutting through end grain is much more difficult than cutting along the grain of the wood because the fibers are much more compact. It is recommended to utilize other techniques, such as marking and sawing along the grain, rather than cutting through the end grain of wood.
